Some believe that smaller groups and social networks online are far better than the massive ones. Still, most groups are founded by someone, and that someone wishes to serve their will and their agenda. Sometimes that agenda could be a life style, religion, political party, economic theory or a multitude of other things.
If you decide to participate, you do so at your own risk. I learned this recently when I was contacted; “Sorry, you can not access ‘Mr. President 44. We’ve Got Yo’ Back’, as you have been banned. If you think you’ve been banned in error, you can contact the administrator.”
At first, glance, I am like, “What on Earth are they talking about?” This is a social network supporting President Obama, with a slogan; “We go yo’ back!” And I cannot say for sure if their misspelling in the email or the misspelling in their slogan “ebonics” had anything to do with their decision, but I can tell you that I had put forth a legitimate topic to think about.
Unfortunately, it was not politically correct enough for the founder of this little social network, and maybe I might be the wrong ethnic skin color, I just don’t know, as I can only suspect. So, either way I put forth my argument for “becoming unbanned” like I really care:
I think if you ban me due to political correctness of a blog post, then you are denying an opportunity to stop a wrong that is presently taking place and could further escalate due to folks like Rush Limbaugh “hoping the president fails” and others working very hard to see that he does or is driven from office due to birth certificate issues.
If you ban me from this website for bringing up a potential threat to our President’s political career, then I’d have to ask; why are you so touchy, and why all the political correctness and denial? What’s wrong with stating facts?
I feel that banning me is “pure censorship” and I am not sure if that is what Barack Obama stands for? After all, he is for transparency, but if he does stand for censorship and you are doing his bidding, then indeed, my post is even more relevant, because this could very well be the un-coming of the glue that unites his cause and his army of loyal followers, people like you.
I ask that you re-instate my membership to your social network. If not, then, I guess I have lost trust in your integrity and would thus, not want to be a member of a group that censors intellectual thought or those who see problems on the horizon. Your choice.
As you can see, if you participate in small social networking groups, then prepare to be banned for intellectual thought, especially from social networks that are left-wing political operations. Please consider this, as censorship appears to be on its way, no matter what size the social network is.
